What We Do

Childhood cancer is a nightmare that’s far too real for far too many kids. Sebastian was one of them. His experience showed us what truly matters and sparked a mission that continues in his name.

At SebastianStrong, we carry that mission forward by funding more targeted, less toxic treatments for pediatric cancers while easing the burdens that kids and their families face along the way. It’s how we honor Sebastian, and every child whose life has been changed by cancer.

Through our annual Discovery Science Award, we invest in early-stage, cutting-edge childhood cancer research. Thanks to supporters like you, we’ve awarded more than $4 million in grants to institutions including Yale, the University of Colorado, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Johns Hopkins, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With matched funding and follow-on grants from larger institutions, our impact now exceeds $6 million, inspired by the promising results of research we helped launch. Our scientific advisory board, made up of leading pediatric oncologists and researchers, guides us in selecting projects with the greatest potential to transform care.

We believe in collaboration. By working with top researchers and other childhood cancer foundations, we’re advancing the science our kids urgently need and delivering real hope to the families who need it most. Because kids deserve better.
