25 Miles of Hope: Key Largo to Islamorada

We pushed off from Key Largo at sunrise – five weeklong paddlers, nine road crew, one big mission. Twenty-five miles later, we landed in Islamorada with sunburns, sore arms, and full hearts.

A huge thank you to our Day 1 hosts – Florida Bay Outfitters for launching us out of Key Largo, Stone Oven Pizzeria for the post-paddle dinner that disappeared in record time, and Keys Deep Apparel for outfitting the crew with our Day 1 shirts.

This year, we have a community of banks alongside us, and we mean that literally. U.S. Century Bank has shown up for us every year since this adventure began six years ago and is always there to launch us. Locality Bank and Mainstreet Community Bank of Florida CEOs paddled the entire 110 miles with us! That’s community.
